I used this book as part of my first grade science. This book was very approachable for students to connect with. It was perfect for helping students see the spring part of the cycle of maple trees (and the process of syrup making). They were able to identify similarities and differences between the maple tree and other deciduous trees and see how changes in the seasons from winter to spring cause the sap to run and how we harvest it.
