This larger sized volume is simply beautiful. There is a smaller sized version that is also charming. Brian Cook's paintings (and the book(s) they grace) are referenced throughout the television series "Penelope Keith's Hidden Villages" (available for streaming on Amazon/Acorn -- and highly recommended). I wanted to purchase the book after viewing the television series. I am not disappointed except with the efforts required and the time it took to finally receive a book; I tried multiple times, with multiple sellers. The book is absolutely beautiful.

This is a delightful little book with beautifully colored pages. The paintings of the landscapes and towns of the U.K. are lovely.

I had just finished the delightful series Hidden Villages of England hosted by the iconic Penelope Keith and she referred to Brian Cook's artwork and books frequently so I bought them (of course dear old Amazon had them!!! so it was easy). The series is truly worth seeing and long enough to lose yourself in and look forward to. This book features the art of Brian Cook and it is lovely. As an art major I would term it commercial art, not fine art but nonetheless it is charming. Cook's use of color is highly professional and delightfully surprising. I highly recommend if you love art and the English landscape.

I bought two of Brian Cook's Landscape books. His work is enchanting and I highly recommend if you like art and you like color and you like to see color used in interesting and surprising ways. I first was introduced to these books by Penelope Keith in her delightful series The Hidden Villages of England.

What wonderful illustrations which capture the romance of England.

After watching the Penelope Keith series where she tours villages around England, I bought this book of images from the original guidebooks. Amazing use of color and fun images from all over England. I used this book as a resource for selecting colors for new bathroom accessories. Brian Cook uses a delightful palette of colors in his artwork. Highly recommended for fans of the Penelope Keith series.

Had to have it after watching Penelope Keith's Hidden Villages on Acorn TV.

Beautiful colours and a wonderful return to the idyllic British past...wonderful.

I have an older version of this book published in 2007 so maybe the newer version is better. I am a huge mariners fan and thought this book felt more like a dry book report on the team. It didn't really go into depth in the highlights and things I was interested in. At times I felt that this book was even negative toward the Mariners organization. I just didn't feel it was a very well written book. Having said all this, I think it's a quick and easy read that gives you a brief overview of the organization if that's what you're looking for.

My husband is a huge baseball/Mariners fan! He's enjoying the book immensely!

I absolutely loved reading this book and have even bought it as a gift. I recommend it to everyone that likes the Mariners. The way it is put together kept it fresh and interesting and I'll read it again and again!

I really enjoyed reading this! It brought back so many memories from '95, '97, and '01, as well as gave me new insight into the early years of the Mariners. Would have been nice if the publishers had worked with the author to update the book with its 2014 re-release, but I'm glad to know that was through no fault of the author.

The book is a delight. It's written for the average person, who may or may not be a baseball fan. There's not a lot of boring statistics. It's a look at the players and one particular remarkable coach. It made me laugh out loud, brought tears to my eyes and sometimes both at the same time. The book takes a look at the real people who have played inside the Seattle Mariners uniforms. Give it a chance just like we've given the Mariners a chance.

We use this curriculum for our Sunday morning Children's Church ministry. It is perfect for us because we have preschool-6th grade all in one room (crazy, I know!). It also if easy for our rotating volunteers to pick up the next lesson and teach. There are plenty of options to pick and choose to fit your individual teaching style and differentiate for your group of kiddos. The only thing I would warn you about is that the volumes are seasonal, I didn't realize that at first as I had just purchased volume 1 and it was really the fall curriculum. But it worked for the time I year well enough. I have purchased the other 3 "All-in-Ones" so we have the complete collection and are prepared for the rest of the year!

We have a small church - and one children's Sunday class with 10-14 kids from a spectrum of ages. This book makes it easy-er to plan and execute a class for them that is accessible, faithful, and fun. It may not have all the bells and whistles of a graded curriculum, but it also does not have the price tag. It does offer ideas for every part and phase of an effective class, from story time to Bible lesson to craft to snack to game idea - all using things that might be found around the house. I would say that it is Highly Cost Effective but that is not saying enough. Instead I will just say that it is Highly Effective.

Seems to be good, but still seems geared towards the younger end, not necessarily up to 12. They seem to think it is also somewhat 'babyish' for them.

We currently use this book for our Children Sunday School and the result has been awesome. The kids love the structure and it works well with our discipleship model.I will recommend it for any Children Minister or ministries looking for a great resource for Sunday School.You will appreciate the lessons, structure and language. Everything is laid out in a simple format that guides the teacher.It certainly took the pressure off our staff always looking for new materials for our Church Sunday Schools

Did the first lesson today. Kids said it was the best children's church ever! Thank you for a masterful curriculum that really drew in all my kids age 4-10!

I bought this for my Sunday School Teachers to use in my tiny church. They love using it. The only negative they have said is that the book's crafts involve some origami and it doesn't show what they are creating in the end.

Perfect to teach age group 8 to 12 year olds it's very explainable easy activities and they really enjoyed it

Prior to joining KSHB-TV, Rhiannon had been the morning anchor for the CBS station in Miami, the host for a nationally syndicated show in New York City and a reporter and anchor at WCBS in New York. Rhiannon has covered tropical storms and bombings and interviewed celebrities from Madonna and Denzel Washington to Gloria Steinem and Caroline Kennedy, but her favorite role is mommy. Rhiannon and Mike have a son, Roman, and a daughter, Camila. About the Illustrator,Wendy Leach graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Missouri. I opened this book as soon as it arrived at my house. I never felt like being a stay at home mom was my calling, but mom guilt still gets me from time to time. "Am I spending enough time with her?" "Am I a good mom even though I work?" There are days I'd rather be home with my daughter than at work, but deep down I know I'm a better mom because I work. This book recognizes the important contributions that women make who work outside the home - doctors, lawyers, firefighters, reporters, and bakers. The illustrations pair wonderfully with the book. I also want to applaud the representation of women of color throughout the book. Well done!

I am not an mom. I have no idea what it must be like to look down at your child every day and go to work, even when they are begging you to stay. What struck me about this story, though, is all the strong women Rhiannon wrote about. There’s an underlying message here that is about more than just motherhood, at least in my eyes. As women in the workplace - and that workplace can be anywhere (the C suite, the classroom, the surgical unit, and yes, even at home if that’s what you choose) - we have incredible power to lift each other up and support each other...to make sure we all have a seat at the table. That way, and only that way, can we shape the little minds back at home...that they can some day do the same.

I’m so proud of Rhiannon for tackling this subject all working moms deal with. This book is relatable for moms and kids and sends the important message that no matter what our jobs are, our kids always come first. It’s not easy to explain to a young child why we do what we do. This book certainly helps and it shows that working moms can and are always the super heroes we don’t give ourselves credit for! Congratulations, Rhiannon.

This book is exactly what I had hoped for and needed it to be! Easy read with fun characters and a story that my daughter was able to relate too! I would recommend this book to all working moms and for teachers to keep in their classroom to help those who struggle with mommy having to go to work. This type of book is well over due in my opinion and really perfect for children of all ages!

I purchased this book to give as a gift to my God daughter who has a 2 year old son. There is such a need for this book, both for moms and their children. The emotions need to be addressed and communicated and this book helps start that discussion. I just love the fact that a pregnant mom with 2 pre schoolers and a full time demanding job took precious time to write this book. You can tell it is heart felt. So glad I ordered this. It would make such a great gift for working moms who might be struggling to find a balance.

Reading to my toddler at bedtime, he really likes the dog and cookies in it. I really like the sincere, subtle message that it has that moms go to work too. It's a sweet, happy storyline, with no dark parts. I bought one for myself and as a gift for another working mommy. Both dads and moms work hard, I want my kid to understand that at a young age.

I adore this topic- we need more books about working mothers trying to juggle it all! It was such a sweet story with a wonderful message- the illustrations were perfect and my two daughters age 5 and 2 loved the story! They asked for me to read it every night since it arrived!

I loved this, but my child loved it more. She loved the pictures and asks me to read it every night AND in the morning before I go to work.
