Very detailed information about The Holy Spirit and the misconceptions believers have.Helped me. I'm intrigued by the Holy Spirit because HE is third part of the trinity but yet the neglected part.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, because it gave me a deeper appreciation for the ministry and ways of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, it gave me a deeper appreciation of the divine origin and inspiration of the Holy Scriptures. I have never come across a book like this - which attempts to illustrate the presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit in every book of the Bible. The world is saturated with books that illustrate the presence, person and even foreshadowing of Christ in the books of the Bible. But, here comes a young contemporary Christian evangelist being moved by the Spirit to write in detail about the work, person and presence of the Holy Spirit in holy writ. This is indeed an awesome work, and Evangelist David Diga Hernandez should be applauded for this labor of love in taking the time to write such a tremendous book to bless all those who have faith in the Holy One of Israel and His beloved Son Yeshua. I believe that should the Lord tarry much longer, this book is destined to become a classic.

Okay we have a boat with a Volvo Penta engine. We are pretty much novices at DYI but at least we want to be able to do some maintenance and basic diagnostics before we start forking over the large bucks. We bought the manual based on the reviews and found that book is very detailed and provides good instructions and diagrams so even a novice can feel confident. We went through the troubleshooting steps for our trim and were able to diagnose and correct the problems with new fuses and new relays. I think this guide has already saved us some money.I found it to be quite helpful and it does walk you through a process of elimination so you can determine the issue then assess your skill level and determine if you want to try it or call a professional. I found this very useful and helpful and would recommend it if you are even thinking of doing the work yourself. I am extremely pleased with this and would recommend it highly if you wan to make the leap into DIY repairs.

This is best choice for your primary repair manual. I bought this and the Clymer since they weren't too expensive. The Clymer is nice as a back-up, particularly for photos...

I have not had to use this book too extensively, yet. However, for the few things that I have had to look up, I found it relatively easy to find the topic and the coverage to be good. Because the book covers several years and several engines and outdrive models, you must look carefully to ensure that you are referencing the information that applies to your specific application. The book includes symbols indicating the relative complexity of each procedure and whether or not special tools are required. This enables you to determine if it is really a DIY job or if you need to take it to the professionals.

Bert Kienzle's wartime achievements are essential reading for those interested in the Kokoda Trail and the war in the Pacific. The author has done a brilliant job in documenting them and at the same time revealing a family story of hardship, pioneering and achievement that is compelling reading.

What an adventure

This is by far one of the best books I have read in a while, where I have also learnt a wealth of facts and knowledge about a life and a time in history that to so many people is unknown and unimaginable in today's society. Many Biographies can be dull and lifeless, but I found myself absorbed in this man's life and adventures to the point where, before I knew it, I had finished the book and wished there was more.Definitely get yourself a copy.

Bert Kienzle is a remarkable person. From the few other histories I've read about Kokoda, it doesn't at all seem an exaggeration to attribute the foundation and success of the military organisation (and at times the deplorable lack thereof by high Australian and US command) down the Kokoda to this man. A special story of Australia, especially given its history of poor man's colonialism and the White Australia Policy. Early on, the author fairly and rightfully acknowledges the bias that may be inherent in her opinions as the daughter of the subject, that frame her account. For the first two thirds or so, this adds a depth to the story that would be difficult to produce by other, 'objective' authors and enhances the story. Unfortunately, the personal bias creeps in as the story beings to reach for it's conclusion. While it seems to lose the focus demonstrated in the first two thirds or so, some asides make clear the situation of the auther in regard to political and cultural allegiance. For example, a few derisive comments about labor strikes and members and colonial/Foriegn policies of the Whitlam Labor government, injects the last part of the story with an undercurrent of spite that detracts from the historical value of the perspective and the author's relationship to this history. There seemingly are always disagreements about policy and history, often bitter, and fairly so, but a sound contribution to history and the topic is not served by personal invective. I persisted in finishing reading this book, mostly because of my compulsion to finish what I start (even though 'Driven' and 'Rush Hour 2' pushed me to close to walking out of the cinema), and remained mostly dissatisfied and disappointed by the end, despite the excellent start. An editor should have insisted on toning down some rhetoric and trimming it by a couple of chapters. A worthy story, a worthy read, but I wouldn't recommend this book before a healthy list of other histories about Kokoda, particularly by Ham and Brune.

This book literally changed my life. As a sufferer of Crohn's Disease, which is severely aggravated by negative stress, I was in desperate need of an effective form of handling life's stressors. This is the book that allowed me to understand what mindfulness and meditation practices are all about. Instead of tuning out, open yourself up to that one thing you can focus on and appreciate it for what it is whether it's the sound of your breath or a drive in the country. Very practical advice. My stress has gone down considerably since working mindfulness into my life although I understand it is a lifelong practice.

With how widespread Thích Nhất Hạnh's name is in the new age world, I completely misunderstood who he was and what he taught. Hanh's Miracle of Mindfulness is a series of translated letters from 1968 -- written while exiled from Vietnam -- instructing young monks overseas on meditation. His 'mindfulness' isn't the confusing buzzword it is today, but simply a way to inch towards the Buddhist idea of enlightenment.I expected scam artistry akin to Eckhart Tolle or Deepak Chopra, not legitimate Buddhist teachings. There's still a few lines of woo-woo that don't mean anything (to me, at least), but the majority of Hanh's Buddhist ideas reject the nonsense of religious text and simply want the the reader to be self-aware: Recognize their emotions and the emotions of others; the causes of social strife and personal discomfort; the is-ness of all things.It's a straight, beautiful series of meditations to wash away one's anxieties, starting with the most basic step in meditation: Be conscious of one's breathing. Focus on the act of breathing. Focus on any act one's doing and enjoy it -- walking, doing the dishes, the laundry -- because all moments in life could and should be enjoyable.The book concludes with a useful step-by-step guide on each method of meditation without the letters' contexts -- a great reference for when one needs reminders.Hanh's writing is succinct, and makes the reader feel beautiful without asking for anything in return. Highly recommended.

As a beginning yogi, my practice of meditation has been limited, usually wishing I could hurry through that last part of the session. After reading “The Miracle of Mindfulness” I realize I’ve been blowing off maybe the best part of yoga practice. With a clearer understanding of the meaning and importance of mindfulness, I will be more self-aware and conscious of my actions and surroundings. That’s a powerful lesson to glean from a small but powerful book.

The work is informed by his own life, his suffering as a Vietnamese monk and his transformation of that suffering as an activist for peace deepens the meaning of this highly accessible work.The Miracle of Mindfulness is an inspirational, gentle, loving book that is invaluable as a support for meditation practice and a richer life generally. I especially appreciate Hanh's commitment not only to a sitting practice but to an active participation in the life of the world. I found this increased my appreciation of this work.Anyone who meditates, seeks out the spiritual dimension of life, or is searching for a greater sense of meaning to ordinary experience should absolutely read this book. It doesn't take long to read but it takes a lifetime to live out.
