G.M. is one of the Stones great photographers. Many of his shots are classics; coverart; iconic images. His most recognizable shots are from the early days; around '65 and '66. A really nice book. And I actually prefer this smaller size, not the usual coffee table tome.

Fantastic! This book is just filled with really good photos of The Stones....this photographer was on their first American tour with them...I saw them here in San Diego during that tour(!) Anyway, REALLY fine book!

wonderful pictures! I just wish it was bigger. the book is 15x21cm. that would be awesome to have it in 20x30cm.

Although some of these images will be familiar, there is much in here to surprise and delight a Stones fan. Performance shots, posed shots, domestic shots and so on capture the band in their sixties pomp. It makes a great companion to other Stones books where the photography is often keyed into the Stones' bad boy image; here Mankowitz's images present much more than the brooding, surly traditional images. It is fascinating to observe the transition in the Stones, visually, over the 65-67 period, then again in 82. crucial Stones purchase.

Trust me, if you hate laughing while reading, then please stay away from this book. It is hilarious and more than a few times I had to put down my Kindle for fear that my laughing hysterically would cause me to drop it, break it, and make me sad all of the sudden.The only itch is that it could have been longer, but I suppose that's a compliment as well. The 'behind the scenes' stories were hilarious. We all knew that Greg Oden was a great guy, this confirmed it (other than one incident later in life), we perhaps didn't know much about Evan Turner other than his decent NBA career, but he comes off as interesting guy, with a startling sense of perspective at times. Mark Titus is a jokester, someone who was aware of his limitations as a player, and thus moved along accordingly. He was the peanut gallery, and I don't know that a book like this told from Turner's perspective as a 'star' would be as effective.Is this another The Breaks of the Game? Of course not, it never tries to be. It gives you a time (2006-10), a place (Columbus, Ohio for the most part), and setting (hoops, because if Titus had a personal life while he was in Columbus, well he rarely touches on it here). Good enough for me. If you want more of his writing, he's become one of Bill Simmons' crew of loyalists, and has worked with him at Grantland and The Ringer.

Overall, a pretty good book. Titus is definitely a funny guy. I am not an basketball fan, and I'm absolutely not a fan of anything originating at Ohio State University. However I read this book anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I liked the inside details of life in a big-time NCAA basketball program, and I also enjoyed his no holds-barred, I don't care who I offend style of writing. Towards the end, it all got a little old, but the book was almost finished at that point. Overall, this book is worth your time.

Easy read. Sarcastic and humorous look into college sports. Titus pokes fun at the whole college sports culture. Warning - this is full of bathroom humor and includes some R rated stories - not for kids. I'm glad I read this before giving to my young basketball-obsessed middle schooler.

even though i am not an ohio state fan, i can relate to being on the bench as a sub. pretty easy read. i will pass this on to my ohio state fans.

Fan of the author's writing. This is not for everyone.

A lighthearted yet true story of life in the competitive world of basketball. It is a human story not necessarily one of solely basketball. Worth a read for anyone interested in how someone deals with the challenges of being an athlete at a big time school. Again, it's a comical look at life and not only about sports.

I'm a huge college basketball fan and Titus offers a great insider's look into the game, the atmosphere, and the team. Some will be turned off by the sophomoric humor but if nothing else it feels honest.It's a quick read without just skimming details. I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys college basketball.

Loved the book. As a long-time high school, college,and service team athlete, I could identify with all of it. There is so much politics and phoniness in who plays and who doesn't, it should be examined and made fun of. Mark Titus was honest throughout and didn't pull any punches. Very accurate in all respects. Recomend you buy it and read it thoroughly.

For me, the value of the book was revealed when I was re-designing my company's website and coming up with advertisement banners - having all the main influences, examples, and a walk-through on how they work and why really helped me crystallize the value of my brand and bring to the surface (and to the eyes of my customers) some of the influences in the book I had basically otherwise overlooked. I also now more consciously incorporate these influences when talking to wholesale customers. Overall well worth the money for this book. Oh, it's also beautifully designed, hardy hardcover with thick pages, if you're into that sort of thing.

A thoughtfully written book about a very brave young man who lived a brief life of courageous resistance to the evils of Naziism during WWII.The book is based on a true story. It is written clearly, it lets the facts of his life speak for the lessons to be learned. I was left with awe, gratitude, sadness, and admiration for this young man and for others like him of all ages who have stood up to evil.It's one of the books that touches you for the rest of your life. I will not forget this story.I recommend it to anyone.

I really enjoy reading stories based on true life experiences. Though the end is evident from the beginning, you are taken through the life and challenges of a young German youth who wants to know and share the truth about how the Nazi's are misleading and beguiling the German people as to what is actually happening in WWII. This teenager refuses to succumb to the lies about the Jewish people and to the required behavior of the "Nazi Youth" of which he is required to become a member. He values his immediate family and his true friends. Knowing his own inevitable fate he does everything he can to save his two dear friends...who later help to tell his story. It is an excellent story to teach todays youth to think for themselves and cherish in their heart and their life what they know to be good and true and right. Not to be beguiled by the gang mentality and see that no matter what, to stand for righteousness.

I started reading this book out loud to my 8th grader as a joke...he left for soccer practice and I finished the book. It was for his English class. I could not put it down. I finished it in two hours. The characters draw you into the struggle of being in Nazi Germany and watching your neighborhood be torn apart. The bravery that takes place in this book is incredible.

Helmuth Hubener is an ordinary young man caught up at first in the National emotional fervor for the Fuhrer. But when his eyes are opened to the horrors he sees going on around him, will he have the courage to take a stand?Compelling and powerful, this is "a novel based on the true story of a Hitler Youth." In reading it, don't be surprised to find yourself pulled into Helmuth's life. I couldn't put it down, even though I knew (having read another account of Hubener) what ultimately happens.And don't forget to read the author's notes in the book.(Read this book in conjunction with Bartoletti's Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler's Shadow. Combined they make a powerful history lesson regarding life for Germany's youth during Hitler's reign.)

Great guide outlining a program of recovery using Buddhist principles. I found this so pertinent and appealing as this is not a Buddhist view or experience of the 12 Steps or psychology. After reading the book, I attended a (newly formed) Refuge Recovery meeting.

Great book. Interesting to read the scope of the reviews. Is the book perfect? No, but it's very good. Would I have done things in a different order? Yes, probably. Is it the 12 steps reworked? Definitely not, but the Dharma and the 12 Steps naturally share some core principles. Is it better than the Big Book? ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY. It's clearly filled a void for a lot of people, myself included, and I'm grateful for it. The fellowship is spreading, and later this month we're starting a meeting in our area. If you have any interest in meditation and/or Buddhist principles being integrated into your or a loved one's recovery, this is simply a must read. Get involved. Create the community you seek. If your're reading this and you're stuck in hell, there is a way out my friend, but you have to take a step in the right direction. This can be that. Be well.

Like always, Lonely Planet has problems updating their travel guides, but generally it is an easy to navigate source of information. I noticed that the list of hotels in the Lonely Planet guidebooks has become very limited and we often had to search for accommodation after arrival as the listed hotels tend to be booked out first.

My wife and I were only in jordan for 1 day, so we only used the Petra content in this guide. I found it extremely helpful, since we like to set out own pace and are not really the "guided tour" types. Reading about each of the sites was a nice rest from the heat, but i think my wife got tired of hearing me read :) Next trip we will definitely see more of the country and use the rest of the book!

Perfect travel book for visiting Jordan. Especially good for anyone visiting Petra and/or Amman. Well worth the cost. Excellent vendor.

My prefered travel guide is lonely planet. Everything (hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, touristic sites, etc) are reliable. I always travel with it!

I have visited Jordan at least 20 times in the past few years, and I use the Lonely Planet and Rough Guide in parallel. Sadly, the 2009 Lonely Planet edition represents another low point on LP's downward quality spiral. I say this with sadness, as a longtime LP user whose bookshelf is full of dog-eared LP classics. The Jordan guide is just modestly updated from the 2006 edition. There are hard-to-justify omissions (Qasr Bshir), laughably outdated facts (such as the Amman municipal bus fares or the access route to Qasr al-Mushatta) und tons of information that is just plain wrong. The book reads like a sloppy, unenthusiastic desk update. From the content it is abundantly clear that the authors have not even bothered to read the country information in the discussion forum on LP's own website...! The only improvement is a two-page snapshot of scenic routes down to (or up from) the Dead Sea. I am forced to conclude with a single piece of advice: Buy the Rough Guide instead!

I was recently on a tour of Petra and Jordan and realised that since I do not hear well I would not be able to hear the Tour Guide giving his explanations. While we were at lunch in Jordan I used my Kindle to download the Jordan Lonely Planet Guide.Two of us on the trip could not hear well, so we used my Kindle on our walks around. We found that the Guide itself was excellent, maps and diagrams were clearly downloaded and having a Kindle was an unexpected bonus.I tried to do the same thing recently in Babylon in Iraq, and in Bahrain, but no Whispernet cover in either of these countries, so I have to try when I reach home.The Lonely Planet Guides are easy to read, but detailed enough for immediate interest.

Information is valuable and useful. I always like to have a map included but this did not - - But that is OK. The book is just the right size for traveling.

Boaz, while occasionally a little dry, does an excellent job of explaining libertarian ideas, their development through history and how they can be applied today in our Western society. Maybe you don't agree with libertarianism for one reason or another. This book might or might not persuade you, but don't rely on the oversimplified (and often strawman) arguments you may have heard against libertarianism. Read this book and find out what libertarian ideas actually are and how many libertarians would like to see them applied. If you're already libertarian or leaning libertarian, read this book and get a secure footing in the ideas of liberty and human rights.

David Boaz takes on libertarianism, linking its roots in the earliest thoughts of Lao Tzu, taking it through an investigation of John Locke, Adam Smith, and the Enlightenment and developing the theme of liberty in pretty much every relevant domain of political and social impact.All that being said, this "Manifesto for Freedom" is a primer for freedom. Do not expect in-depth discussions of your favorite libertarians (be it Hayek, Paul or Rand), though expect liberal mentions.All in all, Boaz writes a clear introduction to what should not be radical, but nevertheless is: that liberty is vastly important, unfortunately understated and is the key to prospering, advancing society.

This book is great. I consider my political views "ever-changing" and I have been wanting to explore the philosophy behind libertarianism. This book is a wonderful primer. It explains libertarianism in a simple, straightforward way. The book doesn't pander left, right, up, or down. I consider it to be fair. I would highly recommend.

I think Libertarianism is dedicated to the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution better than either of the two existing US major Political parties. Unless you are eager to learn about a better approach to your political life you may stop reading without acquiring important information

As Libertarianism become more mainstream, anyone interested in American politics owes it to themselves to develop a working knowledge of the real thing rather than the cartoon versions floating around the media. Regardless of whether or not you accept libertarian ideas, at least make an effort to know what it is you embrace or reject.The Libertarian Mind is the best place to start. Cato is the acknowledged center of libertarianism in the US and David Boaz is one of, if not the, leading libertarian scholars writing today. If he cannot explain libertarianism, nobody can. He makes his case well and describes more of a philosophy than a party platform. Although the book may gain some converts to the libertarian cause, it's greater value is that even readers who are less than fully convinced or who remain adamantly opposed, will at least be able to address their arguments to real libertarian ideals rather than the straw men too often put forward by those who do not understand or deliberately misrepresent libertarianism.

This book is a great overview of Libertarianism and how this view improves everyone's lives. Hitting almost every issue and topic you can think of, the author clearly articulated the arguments, logic, pragmatism and benefits of a Libertarian viewpoint of individual liberty and respect for others. Great read, learned a lot, and am now better equipped to defend and advocate for the Liberty movement.

Should be called Mind Blowing instead. Proves there are workable answers to societies' most complex problems while respecting human rights and dignity.

Holy Hotness! Easton becomes the teacher for Princess Brielle. He's known her as a child, a teen and a young woman for she's his sister's best friend. When a twist of fate happens and he realizes he's fallen for her, his alpha comes out patient and caring and a whole lot of hottness. Ms. Avery is one of the rare authors who not only come out with a believable story, her characters are well thought out, her steamy intimacy scenes are climatic and overall quality of writing becomes a work of art. I'm not a fan of the form of cursing used, but that's me. Despite that wee glitch, I couldn't put this down and can't wait for her next story. Enjoy! No cheating or cliffhangers and you get a happy ever after.

This is not my first book by, Scarlett Avery, but it's definitely one of my favorites. The amount of steam, intrigue and even suspense between and with Easton and Brielle blew me away.This is a 5 star review, for all the reasons I mentioned above plus some.Bravo Ms. Avery, bravo.

Scarlett Avery has done it again! She comes up with the most amazing stories with the HOTTEST alphas! Scarlett’s men are always the nicest, most respectful people (if you don’t count their dirty mouths), but you better not get cross them.... The girls in this story are so sweet, smart, talented, and ready to grow up. There’s no better hero for this princess than Ethan!

Every young woman needs a billionaire to be her first love. Easton treats his princess with tender care in training her in the art of love making. Along they way she teaches him a thing or two about falling in love. Great read as usual Scarlett Avery writes another best seller.

The Billionaire and the Princess was a steamy read. It dragged in a few spots which I found I skipped parts. But if you like steamy you’ll like this book.

Loved Easton. Easton was the man. Brielle was so sweet and kind. Sienna was a hot mess. Lilo and Iyanna were sweet. Even the body guards were nice.

One of the best stories I have read! If you want a fairy tale, but somewhat dirty one, this is the book for you. Great characters and locations.
